Join your neighbors and fellow community members on Midtown Plaza in Carmel as our city joins with more than 50 other sites throughout Indiana to offer public witness of the social injustice happening to immigrants everywhere and, specifically, to those within the boundaries of Miami Detention Facility in Bunker Hill, IN.
Several grassroots groups have joined together to support Indiana Organizing Project in raising awareness of the situation at Miami Correctional Facility - and the impact that detention is having on thousands of Hoosier families. Spend 10 minutes exploring on your own. If you are curious or inspired by what you discover, take additional time to connect with local groups who are supporting the immigrant community.
This event is organized by Indiana Organizing Project with partnership from From Strangers to Neighbors, Inc, Carmel Indivisible, Voices4Democracy, and Hamilton County Democracy Coalition.

Game of Democracy combines theatre, game play, and technology to create a unique experience. Enter the fictional world of the game, make choices, and experience how the systems and stories that surround us shape democratic decision-making. The experience doesn’t tell you who to vote for, which party to align with, or any candidates to support. It does invite you to reflect on the experience you have and consider: Can we fix the future?
Our goal is to give attendees a rare opportunity to consider how individual choices shape democracy and the future.
In the midst of political craziness, Game of Democracy offers 18-34 year olds —a group with low voter turnout — a unique opportunity to reimagine how we engage with one another and a chance to witness—and talk about—why voting doesn’t happen and the impact that has.
Fred Miller, an Indy-based DJ and event host more commonly known as mffred, will emcee this amazing event.
